The School with Tradition

The history of the oldest school in Sanok is long and rich, and its beginnings date back to 1880. In the present form, Secondary School No.1 in Sanok has existed since 1973. It was then that our Alma Mater was given the name of The Commission of National Education, and the school changed its seat. Then and now we continue shaping young people’s minds and observing the time-honoured values that our Founders believed in.

Success Guaranteed

Secondary School No.1 can take pride in its long-standing tradition and solid teaching standards. We rank high in all-Poland classifications of top Polish secondary schools held by "Perspektywy" and “Rzeczpospolita” magazines thanks to our students’ outstanding accomplishments in subject and sports competitions. Our greatest success so far has been taking 1st place in the Podkarpacie region, and the 14th place in Poland in the ranking list from 1999/2000.

Invest In Your Future

Our qualified and experienced teaching staff should assure you that Secondary School No.1 will open new prospects for you. It is mainly students that create the legendary unique atmosphere of “Jedynka”, which is invariably pleasant and friendly. Do come and make an impact!

Pursue Your Passions

Only Secondary School No.1 gives the young a boost. We enable them to gain success, show off their talents, test their knowledge and skills, as well as take part in a healthy competition and exchange experience. Our school is participating in Feniks project which popularizes and bolsters the development of Physics. Thanks to it, people with scientific minds can take part in some extracurricular classes at school, work in the laboratory of the University of Rzeszow or go to learning camps. Furthermore, there is a wide range of subject clubs (in Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Languages).

We remember about humanists, too. Thanks to the aid of the association called Stowarzyszenie Inicjatyw Wychowawczych im. ks. Wiesława Siwca, they get an opportunity to have their literary output published professionally as a collection of poems.

Secondary School No.1 is engaged in charity work. Every year around 6th December, “Jedynka” virtually turns into a workshop of Santa Claus. We collect toys, organize funds to buy sweets for impoverished children and finally, dressed up as angels or devils, we knock on their doors and make them blissfully happy about colourful parcels and a foretaste of Christmas. In order to increase our financial means, locally accoladed Charity Concert is organized. The event (held three times so far) generates a lot of interest and the students of “Jedynka” can show off their multiple entertaining talents and passions in a hall filled to capacity.
